Republic of Marshall Islands Commemorative Coin Space Shuttle Discovery 1988

Description

This uncirculated collectible commemorative coin features the Space Shuttle Discovery.  It was issued by the Republic of the Marshall Islands on September 29, 1988, the precise date of the Discovery's launch. This cupro-nickel coin is legal tender of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The obverse of the coin shows the Discovery at the moment of lift-off and bears seven stars to commemorate the seven astronauts who died aboard the Shuttle Challenger.  The reverse of the coin bears the official seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
We bought this coin when it was first issued, and it has been stored in a cabinet in our smoke-free home ever since.  This coin is not in it's original plastic sleeve.  The original paper folder describing the coin and the event is also included, and is in very good condition, with some minor wear on the edges.  See attached photos for condition.
