About This Special Item: On March 18, 2002,
the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
, which specifically named Dee Dee, Johnny, Joey, Tommy, and Marky. At the ceremony, the surviving inductees spoke on behalf of the band.
Before the Hall of Fame, to commemorate this very special event, longtime Lightman and designer of the iconic Ramones logo, Arturo Vega, had designed and then printed a limited set of super "high-gloss finish" posters for the band members as a keepsake. A small portion was set aside for the Ramones Fan Club, and for the friends and family of the Ramones. This is one of those posters received on the evening of the bands induction from Arturo Vega.
This is a
super-rare official poster
that was distributed to the band on the night of the ceremony, and to family and friends that evening, and no more were printed. Arturo gifted them to guests (Kirk Hammett, Danny Fields, me, etc) at 'The Loft', - which was the longtime home for Arturo Vega on 2nd Street, and the pre-success base for the band in the 1970's.
The poster features a special expanded version of the iconic Ramones logo created by Arturo for the Hall of Fame commemoration, with Tommy and Marky's name, but CJ's omitted, as he was not being inducted.
It is fantastic item, with an elegant design, suitable for framing.
The iconic eagle was created for this version sits majestically in front of a 12-point star, unique to this design.
The logo image was subsequently used on a small selection of other Ramones merch items at the time, but this specific high-gloss poster never saw a wide release or or any general release after this printing.
About The Flaws: The poster's high-gloss effect may have required a special coating, we do not know about this part, and although it was framed well for 20 years, air-damage has created a consistent 'ripple effect' throughout the entire poster.
Note: The "ripples" outlined above is an issue that we did NOT want to attempt to remedy ourselves, but we feel it may be able to be fixed. We do NOT know for sure. A reputable Art store, or Art Restoration service may provide a solution to a buyer, thereby greatly increasing the long-term value for the buyer. Something to check in advance, if you are interested in buying this item.
We are selling this rare and hard-to-find item it as-is, and we recognize that had it been 'flawless', or with less ripples, that the selling price would have been significantly above the current price. We have considered this.
Another flaw that can be seen in a photo posted was a -smudge in the ink- of the lettering in "RAMONES" at the lower portion of the where the M and the O are close. See photo.
Additionally, this white-base poster is slightly faded after 20 years.
About the Photos: We have included the photos in all basic light settings, on-off, and with many angles are deliberately provided to see the ripple and how it may look in the buyers frame.
Photos are included of the ceremony night at the loft, before the event, with some guests signing the posters. This poster is NOT signed anywhere by anyone.

Overall Condition aside from flaws outlined above: Very Good, slight fade of the white from 20 years, in frame for over a decade then rolled for another decade; no major issues.
