This is NOT a mass-produced, consumer-based Ramones postcard - This IS an extremely limited print run record label promotional item.
The summer of 1976 was very busy and important in the history of the Ramones!
In July the band went to England for the first time to play a couple gigs with the Flamin' Groovies and in the process kicked the UK burgeoning punk scene into hyper-drive.
Building on the success of the UK shows Sire and ABC records invited label-mates the Groovies to the US and shipped the bands to Los Angeles for the Ramones first ever west coast shows.
Up until this point, other than the UK shows, the Ramones had not left the East Coast and the punk fans in LA were waiting
These shows were as big moving the punk movement forward in LA as they were just a few weeks back in London.
You can make a strong case that these LA shows brought punk out of the clubs and into the pop music's mainstream conscience AND propelled the Ramones as the kings of the movement.
This postcard is an invite for the bands show at the Roxy, from none other than Jerry Rubinstein of ABC and Seymore Stein of Sire.
