The brilliantly-designed Anglo-French Supersonic jet airliner 'CONCORDE' made its first flight in 1969. Historic flights were made from London and Paris to New York, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and other world capitals.
The "Supersonic Era" ended in tragedy in July 2000, when New York-bound 'Concorde' ran over debris on the runway in Paris, blew a tire, and punctured a fuel tank. The crash killed all 109 people on board, and 4 people on the ground.
