    Description

1965 Chevrolet Impala - The real thing.  Beautiful car!
I am selling this car for the estate of a friend of mine of 30+ years who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease a few years ago. His condition has gotten to the point where can no longer drive.  He loved this car.  The funds from the sale of this car will go to pay future medical and health care expenses.  My knowledge on this vehicle is limited but I will disclose what I do know from experience and what I have discovered through receipts & other documents.  Also, please understand that I am no mechanic.
Owner was a former high school mechanics teacher who meticulously maintained his vehicles. According to the registration date on the title, he has owned this vehicle since 2009 (12 years).  Car is super clean inside and out and has won several trophies at the local and major car shows including the Houston Autorama car shows, a huge annual car show and auction event that lasts three days and occurs around Thanksgiving of each year.
It sports a 327 V-8 motor with 300 horsepower, which is the original motor from the factory assembly line.  Matching numbers.  The mileage is now 67,034 which I believe to be accurate because I am basing it on the mileage (of 64K) that was posted as the original miles on the sign he had on the car while displaying it at the Autorama shows over the years. (See the picture.)
Features include: Power Steering with Tilt column.  AM-FM Radio.  Rear Window Defogger.  Rear Antennae. Tinted Glass. Bumper Guards.  Redline Tires with  Power Disc Brakes.  Automatic transmission (2 speed Powerglide),  Original red cloth interior which is in near excellent condition if not excellent.  Beautiful dashboard & instrument panel.  No cracks in the dash.  No rust.  Clean headliner. Glass and chrome are in beautiful condition.  Car has been very well taken care of and stored inside at all times since he has owned the vehicle. I believe the car has been repainted (the original color) at one point because there is a small paint flaw on the hood that looks like it may have happened during a paint job.  (See the picture.)
We moved the car in 2019 from a temporary storage facility to a new building we built for his cars and at that time, we installed a new starter, new battery, and had the oil changed by a certified mechanic.  Also had the carburetor rebuilt.  Total came to 8.81.  I have a receipt for that work.  Car has not been driven much since then but has been started and ran on a regular basis since originally purchased in 2009.  He did have a file on the car but I have not yet found it because it was apparently misplaced during the move and the building of the new place.
    Other information:
    ( )
No air conditioning.  It came from the factory like that.
( ) There is a small oil leak of some kind I noticed when I moved the car from where it has been parked since 2019.
( )  Passenger side window knob is in the car but is not attached to the door.  I tried putting it back on but it appears to be missing a clip.
( )  Redline tires look brand new but I cannot be sure of their age.
( )  Since the vehicle has not been driven much over the past few years, we have poured Stabil in the gas tank on a regular basis to keep the gas from spoiling.
( )  Other than the above, I believe everything else on the car is functional and/or requires no repairs.
Please understand this is not a new car and there is no guarantee or warranty on the car.  This vehicle is being sold 'as is'.  I can honestly say, though, that the car looks great and runs great.  I have disclosed everything I know about the car.  Should any issue arise after delivery, then it would be an issue in which I have no knowledge of.
Bottom line - this is a 56 year old car that is in unbelievable condition.  One this collectible and in this condition is a hard find. It is not perfect because of the age and mileage but is so original and genuinely outstanding.  This is simply a gorgeous representation of a 65 Impala that has not been molested in anyway.  It is old enough to be respected yet fun and modern enough to drive on a daily basis.  Truly nice to see a car this fresh and in such good condition.
